In the interest of local ecology, safekeeping of the artwork and your own health and safety please note the following guidelines and terms of booking. In booking your place to visit Hanging Stones you agree to the following:
• Please note that Hanging Stones bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Please ensue you are on time for your booking. Late comers who miss their allocated time slot may not be permitted.
• Keys and maps are to be collected from Sevenford House or The Coach House at the time of your booking (please see your booking confirmation email for details). Keys cannot be collected the day before.
• Keys and maps are to be returned to Sevenford House or The Coach House on the same date as your booking (please see your booking confirmation email for details).
• The artworks are accessible on foot only. No cars are permitted. Nearby parking is available at the Milburn Arms Pub in Rosedale.
• The artworks are only accessible with a key. To protect the visitor experience and safety of the artworks please ensure to lock each of the doors after your visit.
• Please note there are no facilities on route and the terrain is varied, steep and uneven in places. Only those who are proficient walkers should embark on the walk.
• Dogs must strictly be kept on leads at all times.
•There is no electricity in the houses or illumination on the route so walking is permitted within daylight hours only.
• Please close any gates behind you on your route and lock the buildings as you found them. This is essential as there may be grazing livestock on the route.
• Please take any rubbish away with you.
• Please do not permit children or adults to climb on any of the artworks.
• Please do not climb inside the chamber at Job’s Well, the carved stonework at the edge of the opening is delicate.
• Please do not touch the interior walls inside Red Wall and Red House. The mineral deposits are to be left to build over time.
• Following periods of rain or at wetter times of the year, water may collect on the floor of Red Wall so waterproof footwear is recommended.
• In order to keep it a unique and special experience for future visitors, we ask that you kindly refrain from sharing photographs of Hanging Stones on social media.
• Please note all the completed sites are living works of art and will evolve and change with the seasons and with age. 9 sites are complete, with 1 in progress.
